Indra Navy-2015: Russia, India Naval Exercise From Today

VISAKHAPATNAM:  The Indian Navy and the Russian Federation Navy (RFN) will indulge in bilateral maritime exercising for the eighth edition of Indra Navy – 2015 commencing Monday. The exercising is scheduled to be carried out in the Bay of Bengal until December 12, and was taken up with an goal to boost interoperability amongst the two navies and develop a widespread understanding of processes for maritime protection functions.

The Indian Navy will be represented by its indigenous frigate INS Sahyadri, a guided missile destroyer INS Ranvijay and a fleet help ship INS Shakti in addition to a submarine INS Sindhuvir, P8I long-variety maritime patrol aircraft, Dornier brief-selection maritime patrol plane and other integral rotary wing helicopters for the duration of the maritime exercising.

The physical exercise will be organised in two phases – the Harbour Phase throughout December seven-nine at Visakhapatnam and the Sea Period for the duration of December ten-­12, off the coastline of Visakhapatnam. The Harbour Period would encompass table-­top exercises and preparing conferences ashore, prior progressing to sea, even though the Sea Period would consist of various sides of fleet functions.
